Jane Wicker's FB Page Announce Her and Pilot's Death

DAYTON -- The official Facebook page of Jane Wicker Airshows posted at 4:00 PM Saturday, "It is with sad hearts that we announce that Jane Wicker and Charlie Schwenker were tragically killed while performing at the Vectren Dayton Airshow. We ask for your prayers for the families and privacy of all involved and allow them time to grieve and work through these events. No one else was involved in the accident."

The plane went down at 12:48 PM, units on the ground say they responded quickly, but there was nothing they could do to save the two.

The state Highway Patrol is investigating and will give their info to FAA who will then take over..

The Vectren Dayton Air Show will go on  tomorrow as scheduled. People with tickets from today can use those tomorrow.

Wicker was a mother of two, and this was her first time performing at the Dayton Air Show.

Wicker's team wrote that mimics the wing walkers of the 1920s, known as the "barnstorming era."

They write, "She loves to interact with the public, especially the kids, it is the highlight of every show. Her hope is to give everyone an insight as to what airshow performers did to wow the crowds in those early days of aviation and hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams."

The last deadly crash at the Dayton Air Show was in 2007.
