DAYTON -- Young people were the focus of the first annual Youth Job Fair Saturday in Dayton. A line of young people, ages 17 to 21 stretched out the door before the fair got started. More than 40 employers set up booths, giving young people a chance to meet with them face to face and learn how a job fair works.
Youth unemployment has been a growing problem, and the fair was one way to address the issue. Not only did young people get a chance to meet with prospective employers, they gained valuable skills they'll need as they enter the job market.
"Aside from the employers, we also have some workshops for our youth on dressing for success, preparing for interviews, preparing for resumes," said Rocky Rockhold with Workforce Development.
