UNDATED -- An Australian swimmer is on a mission to set a new world record.
Chloe McCardel is trying to be the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage.
The swim should take about 60 hours to complete.
McCardel will be using a team of scientists to help guide her through the Gulf Stream.
She'll also be followed by an underwater electromagnetic field, to ward off sharks.
McCardel's already swam across the English Channel twice.
