CINCINNATI -- A mayoral candidate hands out free pot plants, and dozens of people lined up at the University of Cincinnati campus to get their hands on one.
Turns out, it was all a campaign stunt and the "pot" plants were actually tomato plants.
Jim Berns says he was trying to make a point about the legalization of marijuana.
It's something Ohio voters could decide next year, and Berns is a supporter.
"The state can make millions of billions of dollars making this into a legal industry," Berns said. "And we don't have to have all these police chasing petty criminals around."
Berns announced his campaign for mayor last January on the platform that "there's no problem so small the government can't make it worse."
