BELLBROOK -- Gas prices jumped on Tuesday, topping $4 in some parts of the Miami Valley. We stopped at the Marathon station at Wilmington Pike and State Route 725, where a gallon of regular unleaded was selling for $4.09.
The price of a barrel of oil rose to $93 on Monday.
Right now, Ohio's gas prices are 21 cents higher than the national average and 27 cents higher than at this time last year.
Reports indicate prices are so high because we are in the Midwest and there have been refineries offline in our part of the country. That means less gas to go around.
"I pay it because I have no choice. If it went up any higher, I think I'd go park at the park and get on the bus," Miamisburg resident Alison Landrum said.
The higher prices are likely to stick around, since it's just about summer -- and that blend of fuel costs more to produce.
