Neil Armstrong Misquoted on the Moon?

COLUMBUS -- Astronaut and Wapakoneta native Neil Armstrong uttered what became one of the best-known and most-debated quotes of all time.

"That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind."

For years after Armstrong lowered his left foot onto the moon, he insisted he meant to say one small step for "a man."

Now, researchers from Michigan State and Ohio State universities are bolstering Armstrong's side of the story. They studied recordings of 40 people in Columbus, and found that the words 'for' and 'for a' sound similar when said by Ohioans in this part of the state.  Researchers suggest the results means it's entirely possible Armstrong did say what he claimed, even if the average person couldn't hear it on the recordings.
