DAYTON--The Dayton Dragons game on Sunday was started with a pitch from a woman recovering from a life-changing event.
The first pitch was thrown by Linda Langenderfer. An avid runner, she had a stroke while training for a half marathon.
Today was "Strike Out Stroke Day" at the Dayton Dragons game; sponsored by the Kettering Health Network to raise awareness for early detection.
Linda says she's feeling great.
"Oh it was great, I had a ball doing it. And I've never really thrown a baseball until about two weeks ago, so it was fun learning how to do it," Linda Langenderfer said.
Linda did complete that half marathon, and she still runs three miles, three times a week.
