DAYTON--Today law enforcement and community leaders came together for the male empowerment summit.
The event was hosted by the Adam Project at Central State University's Dayton campus.
Organizers say they want to positively influence Dayton's youth.
Yesterday Dayton police arrested nine people, ages 14 to 23, in connection with a robbery spree last weekend.
Law enforcement officials who spoke at the summit hope it will be a learning experience for young adults.
"We need to step up as a community, but we think the law enforcement needs to step up with the youth that are out there. If we don't get a hold of it, I think our nation is in trouble," said Major Daryl Wilson of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Major Wilson said he thinks the youth at today's summit want to learn so they do not make some of the same mistakes as others.
