CLARK COUNTY -- After a local sheriff's deputy was killed in the line of duty, there's a new push to keep it from happening again.
The Ohio House passed the Deputy Suzanne Hopper Act on Wednesday, which would give officers information on suspects who have a history of mental illness.
The Clark County deputy was shot and killed in 2011 while responding to a domestic dispute.
The man who killed her previously spent time in a mental institution.
The bill now heads to Gov. John Kasich's desk.
