CHILLICOTHE -- A very special delivery arrived at Adena Medical Center at a special time and on a special date.
Wednesday morning at 12:12 a.m., Tiffaney and Joshua Diles of Chillicothe welcomed their 8 pound, 6 ounce son Austin Matthew, who was born on this last day of the century when all three numerals in a date are the same.
With a December 14 due date, the parents arrived at the hospital shortly before 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
The couple didnât think about having a 12/12/12 baby until about 8 p.m. last night.
According to Joshua, âTiffaney said, âit would be cool if he held off until about Midnight, to be born on 12/12/12 - it would be an easy birthday to remember.â And then next thing we knew it was 12 a.m.â
Once they realized they had a healthy baby boy, along with the significance of Austin being born at 12:12 a.m. on 12/12/12, they and their labor team were elated.
âThe nurses went crazy,â said Tiffaney. âAt that point I wasnât thinking about that, I just wanted to get it done.â
The number 12 has a great significance in many cultures. In western tradition, it is commonly associated with completeness and seen as a perfect and harmonious unit.
The day has certainly been perfect for the Diles family. Austin is the coupleâs first child.
