SPRINGFIELD -- R&B singer Vaughn Anthony wanted to do something to counter a Gallup poll that named Springfield, Ohio, the saddest city in the country, so he helped create Vaughn Anthonyâs Holiday Bash, to be held on Dec. 22, 7-9 p.m., in the Springfield High School cafetorium.
The show will feature a variety of performers including bands, dancers, church choirs, Springfield High School Choir, spoken word, praise dancers, and special guests Vaughn Anthony and John Legend. Many of the acts originated from Springfield's Got Talent at the Upper Valley Mall.
âThis community has fostered so much talent -- there is such a spirit of support, I knew that needed to be recognized,â said Anthony, brother of Grammy award winning artist John Legend.
There are 2,200 tickets on sale now, for $20. They are available at the Springfield High office from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., center court at the Upper Valley Mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Springfield Family YMCA from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the local YMCAâs goal to replace the roof above its youth department and to creating football and basketball camps for the cityâs youth.
