SACRAMENTO, CA (AP) -- The attorney for a 12-year-old boy accused of stabbing his 8-year-old sister says murder charges have been filed.
Attorney Mark Reichel states his client, whose name hasn't been released, has been charged with second degree murder and a special allegation for use of a dangerous weapon.
The boy's little sister, Leila Fowler, was found dead April 27 from knife wounds. Her brother was the only one home at the time Leila was found and he told police he scared off an intruder.
On Tuesday, Reichel said the boy may have lied about seeing a long-haired trespasser fleeing the scene.
