DAYTON -- Erica Revere woke up Thursday morning and noticed her boyfriend's truck was missing. At the time, she didn't think anything of it; she just thought he might have dropped it off at an auto shop.
When she asked her boyfriend when he was going to pick up his truck, he had no idea what she was talking about. That's when their pointed out his truck was gone.
They called police and reported the truck stolen. Late Thursday night, Erica, her boyfriend, and their kids were driving home and spotted someone driving their truck.
Erica called 911 and they started to follow the driver. At one point, she says he pulled into the UDF on North Main Street and Wampler Avenue. She says he got out and starting pumping gas in the truck. Meanwhile, Erica and her family were watching across the street.
After he finished pumping the gas, he got back in the truck, and Erica says he started following them! A short time later, Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies showed up.
They took over and started chasing after the driver in the stolen truck. He eventually bailed and ran away on foot. Police are still looking form him.
But, despite some damage, Erica and her family got their truck back.
