COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- A rescue dog named Lucky survived a highway crash that killed two people in central Ohio and has been returned safely to his owner's family.

Lucky belonged to 71-year-old retired teacher Diana Schwab. They were riding together in Schwab's car on Interstate 70 near Columbus when a semi- tractor-trailer truck crashed into already backed-up traffic.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Schwab and the driver of another car, 48-year-old Robin Jones, died.

The dog -- a Welsh Corgi mix that Schwab adopted to keep her company after the death of her husband -- ran off after the crash, prompting a frantic search.

The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/17N64ig ) reports that Lucky was found Wednesday night and returned to Schwab's daughter. She called it "a happy ending to an otherwise horribly tragic day."
