DAYTON -- A local family full of hope, after three women were found alive in Cleveland, after disappearing more than 10 years ago.
"People do get found, but the key is to never give up," said Michelle McCown-Luster, Niqui McCown's sister.
Niqui McCown went missing in July of 2001, and her family continues to search for her.
"I hope that Niqui is out there somewhere, and if she is I just want her to know that her family has not given up on her," said McCown-Luster.
The case in Cleveland, encourages Niqui's sister, Michelle.
"When I seen it, I couldn't help but to feel so hopeful that one day Niqui will come at door," said McCown-Luster.
Niqui was last seen at this Laundromat in Richmond, Indiana.
Her car was found at an apartment complex in Dayton, several months later.
"There's no day that goes by that we don't think about her, we don't search for her, and we're never going to give up on her, never," said McCown-Luster.
A former Trotwood police officer, Tommy Swint, was a person of interest in the case, but later killed himself after being indicted for killing a Dayton woman.
Niqui's family refuses to believe she had the same fate.
"Niqui if you see this know that we love you we miss you very much, and this isn't going to stop, we gonna find you baby," said McCown-Luster.
A determination so strong, that Niqui's family will keep fighting to find out what happened to their daughter, sister and friend.
"Who would give up on their child, who would give up in their sister, if you truly love someone you will not give up on them," said McCown-Luster.
And hope that one day there will be a happy ending.
Richmond Police say the former officer was suspected for several years, but had never been arrested or charged in Niqui's disappearance.
