AUSTIN, Texas -- A self-described "free-market anarchist" has created what's being call the world's first printed handgun and lawmakers are taking aim at the concept.
Cody Wilson, the 25-year-old founder of Defense Distributed, is expected to release his controversial blueprint for the gun online this week, according to Forbes.
New York Sen. Chuck Schumer calls the technology "stomach-churning" and says the ability to create plastic firearms must be stopped.
The plastic weapon is printed by using a 3-D printer and blueprints that Wilson plans to release online this week.
