CHICAGO -- A new law in Illinois gives immunity to drug users who call 911 to save another life.
WBBM in Chicago cites examples of high school-age drug users who allowed two people to die of heroin overdose instead of calling 911 out of fear of prosecution. The Good Samaritan Law, passed last year, would protect those people in order to save their lives.
âYou donât want somebody scared to call because theyâre fearful theyâre going to get arrested â just call,â an undercover officer told WBBM.
