DAYTON - A morning fire gave tenants at an apartment complex on Xenia Avenue an unwelcome wake-up call.
Firefighters say of the four units, only one of them caught fire and is now unlivable thanks to the damage caused by the fire.
While all the residents made it out of the burning building, one woman was sent to the hospital. It was her apartment that initially caught fire. Neighbors say sheâd only lived at the apartment for a few days.
âFires happen everyday, whether youâve lived in your house for years or maybe if youâre a new tenantâ said Capt. Merritt Colton, Dayton Fire Department.
The womanâs identity and condition hasnât been released. Red Cross is assisting the displaced woman and other residents at the apartment who were fortunate to return to their units, which remained relatively unscathed.
