UPDATE: DAYTON- Neighbors sprang into action and helped a University of Dayton student, who was jumped on her way to class.
Katie James, 21, said she has great neighbors. "I'm so grateful for them. I'm really lucky to have them."
Her Friday morning walk to class was a scary one. A man came up behind her and grabbed her cell phone.
"I was just screaming as loud as I could, give me my phone back!" Her neighbors who were outside doing some home repairs, and heard her cries for help.
"He just came out of nowhere and tackled the kid. It was pretty spectacular to watch." Katie said.
Her neighbors held the suspect down on the ground until police arrived.
During the scuffle the thief hit Katie in the face, and fractured her nose.
" As I was talking to 911, my nose was bleeding on the ground."
Police came out to the scene and arrested 19-year-old Mikeial Smedley. Smedley is being charged with aggravated robbery.
Katie said her neighbors stayed with her the entire time.
"There are still good people out there. Even with people doing things like this, there are still good souls."

Her neighbors on Rubicon saw the robbery and tackled the man until police arrived. In the scuffle, the suspect hit Katie's face and she has a fractured and bloody nose.
