Surveillance Video Shows Clerk Getting Attacked

CLAYTON-- Clayton Police are investigating a violent armed robbery at  Circle  K, on North Main Street.

Police said the robbery happened around 9 o'clock Wednesday night. Police released surveillance video from the store on Thursday.
The video shows the two men entering the store and demanding the female clerk to open the register.

While  the men are stealing cigarettes, one of  them punches the woman in the face. The woman falls  to the ground with a bloody nose, and she is seen holding her face.

The men continue to steal more cigarettes, and then kick the woman while she is down, before taking off.

"There was no reason to assault her.  It just shows their violent tendencies." Clayton Police Chief Richard Rose said.

Chief  Rose said the men also robbed a man in the Circle K  parking lot,  before leaving the area.

An hour and forty minutes after the Circle K was robbed,  the UDF on  North Main in Harrison Township was also robbed at gun point.

Monday night,  a Speedway gas station  on Shiloh Springs Road in Trotwood  was robbed  in a  similar  manner.

Police from Clayton,  the Montgomery County  Sheriff's Office  and Trotwood  are all  working together  to see if the robberies  are connected.

"We are very anxious to see if we can identify these suspects and appreciate any help we can get from anybody."  Chief Rose said.

The 50-year-old Circle K clerk who was attacked, is going to be okay.  Police said she went to the hospital  and was treated and released.
Her customers who  know her well,   are upset.

"Oh she is a real sweet lady."  One customer said.  "I come in here everyday.  She's a sweetheart. It made me mad when I  heard about it.  I hope they catch them."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clayton Police department.
