DAYTON -- Ohio gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald visited Dayton on Thursday to introduce himself and his campaign.
FitzGerald, a democrat, officially announced his candidacy Wednesday on a tour of Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. He said he is going around the state and stopped by Shaw Cleaners on Germantown Street to spread his message of support for small business owners.
He told ABC 22/FOX 45 that Gov. John Kasich's approach to leadership has forgotten a lot of people. He said special interests have helped big business, and that if anyone should be getting tax breaks in Ohio it should be the local and small business owners. Under Kasich, he said, it hasn't been.
According to his campaign website, FitzGerald attended Ohio State University, became a special agent with the FBI and was assigned to the Organized Crime Task Force in Chicago.
He served as an assistant county prosecutor, mayor of Lakewood and county executive in Cuyahoga County.
