DAYTON -- The Montgomery County Coroner's Office today has identified the man who was killed in the crash in which a car spun in the air and into a house on Tuesday.
The car that 52-year-old Gary Childress was driving crashed into a home on Xenia Avenue about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Witnesses told police the car might have been traveling at 100 mph before the crash.
Childress was a resident of Huber Heights.

DAYTON -- Police say a man in his 50s is dead after his car flies into a home on Xenia Avenue.
Witnesses tell police that the driver of that car was driving down Dover Street at speeds of 100 mph.
Dayton Police Sgt. Matt Beavers says there was no one inside the home at that time.
"The house appears as if it was being remodeled," he said. "Apparently a couple weeks ago there were occupants."
Dayton Police say the community center across the street caught the crash on camera.
We talked with a man who rushed up to car seconds after it happened.
"I tried to feel for a pulse, but I couldn't get my hand between his head and his shoulder," said Dayton resident, Jimmy Kolleser.
Kolleser says he works a few doors down at the appliance store.
"I heard a boom, boom, boom," he said. "There was nothing else we could have done because there was no way to get him out."
Neighbors say kids were playing up and down that street.
Crash scene investigators were mapping out the crash to see just how fast he was going.

The accident happened near the intersection of Xenia Avenue and Dover Street around 4pm.
So far crews on the scene don't believe anyone is inside the home. The victim appears to be the driver of the car.
Police have blocked the intersection while they work to remove the vehicle and victim.
