SPRINGFIELD -- It was a bittersweet goodbye for some local troops in Springfield on Sunday.
Two-hundred soldiers with the Ohio National Guard gathered with their families for a formal sendoff.
The troops are going to Fort Hood before heading overseas.
They'll be supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and will be stationed in Kuwait.
"It's overwhelming. ... You feel proud. It helps when you know people are backing you," said Army Specialist Richard Meyers.
Tonight on ABC22/FOX 45, hear more from Myers and his wife's moving message about being a military family.
