WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB -- Col. Daniel Semsel, 88th Air Base Wing vice commander, spoke to the media Monday about the Air Force Marathon and the safety precautions the base takes to ensure the safety of the event.
The Air Force Marathon is scheduled for September 21.
Flying Pig Marathon organizers also are reacting to today's bombings in Boston.
âOur thoughts and prayers go out to the staff and participants of the Boston Marathon after todayâs incident near the finish line," said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director of the Flying Pig Marathon. "We are closely following the situation with our local police and fire leadership to understand the circumstances of todayâs events and will continue to do so as information is released.â
