MIAMI TOWNSHIP -- The landscape at Austin Landing in Miami Township is constantly changing.
"I've been in this area and past this area everyday for the past 25-30 years when it was nothing but farm country," said David McCloud.
Springboro Pike at Austin Boulevard was transformed from a country back road, to a modern interchange with new businesses popping up.
"It's amazing just growing by leaps and bounds," said McCloud.
Just last summer, construction crews were building the Kroger store, and now just months later it's up and running.
"I couldn't believe it at first and then I went by it and thought, oh it's open now, thank God," said Eileen Bell.
Bell drives from Franklin and shops here at least twice a week.
Miami Township leaders say it's only going to get better and bigger.
"We've got three construction projects going on as we speak," said Chris Snyder, Assistant Planning Director for Miami Township.
Just standing on the corner of Springboro Pike and Austin Boulevard, you can see where crews are making the township's plans a reality, with a TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Panera and BJ's Brewhouse going up.
"It's gonna have so much stuff I can't wait," said Bell.
You can also count on a movie theater.
"I'll probably come more when the restaurants open and stuff," said Bell.
And that's exactly what township leaders want to hear.
"We're seeing a lot of demand particularly from people in the southern part of the county and part of northern Warren County come up and utilize those services," said Snyder.
Those new stores created more than 400 jobs in Miami Township, and they expect to create even more once restaurants like Panera and BJ's Brewhouse open up.
It's jobs that people we spoke to say is desperately needed.
"The more the merrier, maybe we'll do the whole city maybe we'll make the whole city survive," said McCloud.
