BELLEFONTAINE -- A Logan County man was indicted Thursday on 17 charges alleging that he sexually assaulted two female victims.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced that Robert Wintersteller, 44, was arraigned in Logan County Common Pleas Court Thursday afternoon on four counts of rape, four counts of sexual battery, six counts of gross sexual imposition, and one count of importuning. He was also indicted on domestic violence and intimidation of a crime victim charges.
DeWine said some of the crimes date back to the early 1990s.
"This man sexually assaulted these victims repeatedly over a period of two decades, and we fear that they are not the only ones," DeWine said. "There could be other victims who are now adults, and we urge anyone with additional information to come forward so that we can prosecute this suspect to the fullest extent."
Wintersteller pleaded not guilty to the charges. A judge set his bond at $250,000.
Anyone with additional information should call the Logan County Sheriff's Office at 937-592-5731. The Attorney General's Special Prosecutions Unit is prosecuting the case.
