MIAMI TWP.-- Police are looking for a screw driver wielding burglar considered by police to be "armed and very dangerous."
Police spent the day searching back yards trying to track down David Croley. Police believe he's been breaking into homes to steal items he can sell to support his drug habit.
Officers said, he's usually armed with a screw driver.
"Our fear is, someone is going to get hurt. We just to get the guy off the streets as soon as possible."
Miami Twp. Police Sgt. Rex Thompson said.
Police believe Croley's latest break in happened Thursday on Dahlia Drive.
They said he broke in when the family wasn't home. He grabbed as many electronics as he could, but got spooked when a neighbor saw him and he dropped
his bag of goods.
Police brought out a K9 to the neighborhood to try to track his scent, but lost the track.
Police were able to dust a lap top he stole for finger prints.
"Its really scary. I hope they find him." Connie Folkerth said. She lives on Dahlia. "I hope he doesn't come back here."
Wednesday night, police tracked Croley to the Knights Inn Hotel on Byers Road. Officers found evidence he stayed in the hotel, but he had already left before police arrived.
"We believe he's an active drug user and he is doing what he can to supplement the habit. " Sgt Thompson said.
"He won't stop until hes caught."
Police warn residents to keep your doors locked. "If someone looks suspicious and is knocking on doors, call police or 911 immediately."
MIAMI TWP. -- Police are searching an area of Miami Township for a possible home burglary suspect.
Police said this could be the person who is wanted for breaking into several homes earlier this week with a screwdriver.
Detectives said David Croley, 34, is suspected in those incidents.
Dayton police are assisting Miami Township and Miamisburg police by bringing in a K-9 unit to search the neighborhood around Dahlia and Palm
