GLENDALE, Ca -- A driver loses control, and his car ends up on a roof! Reports out of Glendale, California, indicate it appears the driver is an elderly man who was trying to pull out of his driveway. His car clipped another house before landing on a neighbor's roof. The crash caught the attention of people who live nearby, with some of them stepping up to help.
"The reason the people aren't still in the car is I brought a ladder up six houses to get them off the roof, in case something had happened, a fire or anything," said Paul Harris, "So that's my contribution to the neighborhood."
"At approximately about 5:45 this afternoon, Glendale units responded to a vehicle on top of a structure on the 400 block of Audraine Drive," continued Fire Captain Carlos Guerrero, "Upon arrival, our units found a vehicle was on top of the garage of the structure and both occupants had self-extricated out of the vehicle and came down the ladder ."
The driver and the woman who was in the car with him are said to be doing okay.
