Powerball Jackpot $260 Million

KETTERING -- Do you feel lucky? Powerball is at a whopping $260 million. The drawing is at 10:59 pm Wednesday. Playing the lottery is always a gamble. So we asked a past winner, how he did it.

Wilbur Stewart, 78, of Kettering has won the lottery, twice. He's never won millions, but he cashed in on enough to pay off some bills. He's won more than $23, 000 in the past few years.

"It's good entertainment if you don't let it overdo you," he said.

Stewart always played at the winningest lottery retailer in the Miami Valley, Bee Gee's Mini Market on Bigger Road in Kettering.

Hundreds of people were pouring into the store Wednesday evening.

"I want to win that sucker," said Paul Soehner of Belbrook.

Like everyone else, Paul's hoping to score the $260 million Powerball top prize.

Whether you actually pick out the numbers yourself, or let the quick pick machine do it, according to the Ohio Lottery, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot is one in 195 million. But that doesn't prevent plenty of people from playing.

"The the first thing I'd buy? I've always wanted one. I'd buy me a new caddy," Soehner said.

While dreaming big is always good, Stewart says it's important to remember one thing, if playing big.

"Make sure you can afford what you're doing," he said.

Stewart says he never spends more than 20 bucks playing the lottery.
