RIVERSIDE -- A Riverside woman is thankful to be alive tonight, after she escaped a fire that broke out inside of her bedroom.
The fire happened at 5218 of Fredonia Avenue before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
The middle aged woman was the only one home at the time and made it out before the flames got too intense.
Fire crews were able to quickly knock the fire down, but it took help from two other departments.
"They were able to quickly, quickly contain the fire to the bedroom. The house did suffer some smoke damage throughout it, at this time we're still investigating a cause," said Riverside Fire Chief, Joseph Greil.
The woman denied Red Cross Assistance. She will be staying with family members Wednesday night.
Investigators are still determining a cause.
