Flu Season Typically Peaks in March; Shots Still Available

GREENE COUNTY -- The Health District is reminding residents that flu season, which peaks in March, is not over and it's not to late to get a flu shot.

The Greene County Combined Health District has a limited supply of vaccine is available and the following walk-in immunization clinics are scheduled:

• Tuesdays: 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m. at the Greene County Combined Health District, 360 Wilson Dr., Xenia.

• Second and fourth Thursdays of each month: 4-6 p.m. at the Greene County Combined Health District, 360 Wilson Dr., Xenia.

The 2012/13 seasonal flu vaccine is recommended for persons 6 months of age and older. Appointments are not needed for these clinics. The cost for each flu shot is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Flu Mist for children is $20.00. We accept Medicaid, CareSource, Molina, Anthem BC/BS, Medical Mutual and AmeriGroup. Cards must be shown. Everyone else will need to pay by cash or check and send a receipt to their insurance company for reimbursement.
