KETTERING -- The American College of Surgeons (ACS) has verified Kettering Medical Center as a Level II Trauma Center. A team of reviewers experienced in the field of trauma conducted an on-site review and determined that the hospital qualified for verification status.
Verified trauma centers meet the essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and institutional performance as outlined by the ACSâ Committee on Trauma. The verification recognizes the trauma centerâs dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
Kettering Hospital opened its Level II Trauma Center in November 2011 with provisional designation. Two other Kettering Health Network hospitals operate trauma centers. Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia is a verified as a Level III Trauma Center, and Soin Medical Center holds a provisional Level III Trauma Center designation.
