XENIA TOWNSHIP -- A family in Xenia township made it out of their home safely after it caught fire early this morning.
Crews responded to the home on Foust road around 8:30 this morning.
Firefighters found smoke billowing out of the attic.
Crews say the construction of the home made it difficult to put the fire out.
Xenia Township Fire Captain Roy Colbrunn said, "The problem with fighting the fire was multiple additions, this added.. false ceilings and false walls, created a lot of pockets where the fire could get in and get a good start where we couldn't get to it and fight it."
It took crews about two hours to put it out, the home ended up badly damaged.
Investigators are still working to determine what sparked it.
