Ohio Attorney General Wants Old Rape Cases Solved

COLUMBUS -- There are more than 2,000 untested rape kits in police departments across Ohio, and now the Attorney General's office wants those kits tested and the cases solved.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has ordered the department to send their untested rape kits to the state crime lab.  According to DeWine, some of those kits are decades old and were never sent to the state for testing.  The reason for the kits sitting there so long?  All those years ago, the cost of DNA testing was much higher than it is today and investigators did not understand the importance of DNA testing
