CINCINNATI -- Support for a fired Purcell Marian administrator appears to be growing. Current and former students of Mike Moroski delivered a petition to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati's offices today.

The Archdiocese fired Moroski earlier this week - after he refused to take down a personal blog post in which he wrote about his support for same-sex marriage. Local 12 News Reporter Angenette Levy has more on what the former students hope to accomplish.

The young men who delivered the petition want the Archdiocese to reconsider the decision to fire Moroski. Some of Moroski's former students at Moeller High School delivered the 7478 signatures to the Archbishop's office earlier today. They presented a binder that included the signatures and messages from supporters. This group is disappointed with the decision to let Moroski go. In a letter they say their firing has led them to question their faith in the integrity of the leaders of the Archdiocese. "Obviously, the first thing is your upset because Mike is a close friend of mine with what's going but after that it changed to something much more than that and that's the bigger picture here and that's equality for everyone and the right to vice without being prosecuted and to have a voice and for people to listen to you."

Officials with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati say they cannot comment since this is a personnel issue. However, in a letter sent home to Purcell Marian parents earlier this week - officials said Moroski's refusal to take down his blog violated school policy and his employment contract. Moroski disagrees.

Moroski had worked at Purcell Marian as an assistant principal since May of 2011. Prior to that, he taught English at Moeller High School for 10 years.
