XENIA -- A house explodes, leaving a single mother and her two young kids homeless.

Investigators are still trying to find the cause of the Friday night explosion at her Xenia home.

The young mother says she was at work when the house she was living in exploded.

And as she rushed home to see what was going on all she could think about were her two kids.

"I cry, it's hard to sleep at night," said Jessica Mossbarger.

Mossbarger still can't believe what she's seeing.

"I can still imagine where everything was and now it's just like kaboom," she said.

Remnants of her home and belongings are now in a pile and covered with snow.

When the explosion happened, neighbors called 911 in a panic.

"The house across the street from me just blew up and there's kids inside. Get someone here fast," said the caller to dispatchers.

Mossbarger had just clocked in at work when she got a phone call that her home was on fire.

"I could see the smoke clear from Walmart," said Mossbarger. "The first thing I thought was my kids."

Several people braved the flames and pulled her two young sons to safety.

"They risked their own lives to help my babies," said Mossbarger.

When Mossbarger got to the scene her kids were already in the back of an ambulance.

"They said they wanted to go home but they couldn't because it was up in flames," she said.

Her oldest son was fine, her youngest suffered burns on his hands and ears.

"He's taking it like a little champ," said Mossbarger.

But now, as reality starts to set in, she's emotional as she begins to start all over.

"Everything is gone, I mean, what once was a home now is not," said Mossbarger.

But she knows just how fortunate she and her family are.

"I can't express how thankful I am that they just ran through my house and got them," said Mossbarger. "I can say I truly have guardian angels watching over me right now, you know."

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating but has yet to say what caused the explosion.

Jessica and her kids are staying in a hotel.

The Red Cross paid for two nights.
