Three Dogs Die in Huber Heights Fire

HUBER HEIGHTS -- Three dogs died in a fire Saturday night in Huber Heights. Firefighters were called to the 6000 block of Longford Road just before 8:00.

No one was home at the time. Firefighters aren't sure if the smoke detectors in the home were working but they want to remind homeowners that the devices can be the difference between life and death.

"When you're inside asleep, they're going to wake you up and get you out of the fire." said Batallion Chief Keith Kinsley.

The home has a lot of heavy smoke and heat damage. Crews do have the fire contained to just one room. Now they're working to find out what sparked it.
