Traffic Light Controversy

TIPP CITY -- Some Tipp City residents say there is traffic light trouble in their town.  A light at the Fourth Street intersection may be removed and some folks are worried that would create a dangerous situation.

Tipp City officials planned to update several downtown stop lights, but state grant money the city would have received to fix it was denied

Now taxpayers will have to pay to keep the light or they could save money and just remove it.  But many business owners and residents are concerned removing the light will make the intersection unsafe.

"My main concern is the smaller the kids coming across cause you know kids north of Main St. have to walk to school and if they come across that road, it's not protected by a stoplight anymore."

There is one other alternative being considered, if the light comes down, it may be replaced by two stop signs.
