SIDNEY -- A boy and girl on Tuesday were both arrested after Shelby County Sheriff's deputies and Sidney Police officers responded to a home for an apparent armed burglary in progress.
After surrounding the house at 1363 South Main Street and eventually arresting the boy, authorities determined the burglary report was a hoax, although the boy was suspected of an armed robbery Tuesday morning.
The girl has also been arrested and faces a charge of filing a false police report and inducing panic. The Sheriff's Office reports that several firearms are missing from the residence and are believed to have been used in the earlier robbery.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incidents.
