FRANKLIN -- One of the best basketball players in Ohio stars in Franklin.  Luke Kennard is at the beginning of what hopefully will be a long hoops career.

"We knew he was special,” said Brian Bales, Franklin head coach, "Even in first, second, third grade as crazy as that sounds he just always looked like he was on another planet."

Kennard's a 6’5” sophomore who in a short two years has become a household name in Ohio.

"The past couple years have been amazing for me, It's been a wonderful ride and a great journey."

Kennard led Franklin to their first unbeaten regular season as a freshman, earning him scholarship offers from Ohio State, Dayton, Xavier, Kentucky, North Carolina, and many more are looking.

"Nice to know that if i want to i can committ, " said Luke Kennard, "I'm just trying to take it slow and not get overwhelmed with it all."

Kennard's a familiar name at Franklin. His uncle's the all-time leading scorer and his dad holds the single season points record.

Even his Coach Brian Bales - a wildcat hero in his own right - knows Luke will rewrite history.

"I joke with him a lot about when you get close to my assist record i'll have to sit you," said Coach Bales, "But we all know he's going to demolish our records."

Luke Kennard's a basketball star, but it might not be his college sport. Kennard also plays football, and Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer personally told him he could be a college star.
