TROTWOOD -- Leroy Bonner, the lead singer and original member of 'The Ohio Players', has died. Bonner died last night in Trotwood.
Bonner, also known as Sugarfoot, founded the 'The Ohio Players' with members of the Ohio Untouchables. Bonner was the lead singer on hits that include ''Fire'' and ''Roller Coaster''.
Bonner's friends and former bandmates say he was special.
"He was an individual that you could put your hands on him. You could reach out and love him and he would love you back, he was that kind of individual.'', King Preston, one of Bonner's good friends and fellow musicians told us, ''And being that kind of individual, his family needs the utmost respect and love. And we'll pray that his mark goes on in history."
