DAYTON -- Firefighters are battling a blaze in a two-story apartment building at 1 Yale Avenue, at Salem Avenue.
Yale Avenue is blocked and Dayton Fire Department has called in mutual aid to assist.
The building contains nine units and firefighters say the blaze might have started in a downstairs unit. Officials are trying to find the occupant of that unit now.
A firefighter twisted his knee while battling this blaze and was transported to a hospital by ambulance. There's no word yet on his condition.
The Red Cross is on scene to assist the residents displaced by the fire and the fire department is taking measures to reduce icy roads by deploying sand around the scene.
