DAYTON - The Dayton Playhouse will present Oscar Wildes comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest" from January 25 through February 3.
Performances will be at the Dayton Playhouse, 1301 E. Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2 p.m. January 25-February 3. Tickets for regular performances are $17 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.
There will be a special matinee performance on Saturday, February 2, at 2 p.m. This performance will include a special Afternoon Tea fundraiser. Tickets for this performance will be an additional $10 and the Tea will be served in the lobby following the performance.
"The Importance of Being Earnest" is widely considered Wildes best work.
Director for this hilarious comedy is Jennifer Lockwood. Members of the cast include: Duante Beddingfield, as Algernon; Matthew Glenn, as Jack; Jackie Darnell, as Gwendolen; Laura Bloomingdale, as Cecily; Patti King, as Lady Bracknell; Cheryl Mellen, as Miss Prism; Jim Lockwood, as Canon Chasuble; Matthew Lindsay, as Lane; & Katie Wenzel, as Merriman.
