DAYTON -- It seems everyone has an opinion on proposed tougher gun laws and how to keep our streets safer - including Montgomery County's top cop.
"You know, it's our Constitutional right to own and bear firearms, which I'm for," said Montgomery County Sheriff Phil Plummer. "If you want to have a gun, have a gun. But let's have tougher restrictions on background checks. That's the key. Let's close the loophole on gun shows, where you can buy a gun from anyone in the gun show. Let's close the loophole and do better background checks."
Sheriff Plummer said his office conducts about 50 new background checks every week...that's 25 percent more than just last month.
