GREENE COUNTY -- The Greene County Combined Health District confirms that a 22-year-old Wright State student has died from the flu.

Greene County Health Commissioner Mark McDonnell says the Fairborn woman checked into Kettering Medical Center on January 4th, and died on the 8th of January.

Amelia Perry worked at the Milano's near Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

Her obituary says she loved nature and photography. Perry was a junior communications major at Wright State.

Perry didn't have any per-exisisting medical conditions before entering into the hospital. The woman was healthy, according to her co-workers.

McDonnell is begging everyone to get the flu vaccine before it's too late.

"You don't get a full immunity until two weeks after you get the shot but anything would help at this point," said McDonnell.

Along with the flu vaccination, you should wash your hands, and stay home if you're sick.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Saturday for Perry.
