DAYTON--Families in the Miami Valley are pulling together and offering support to the families of two local UC students, injured in a fire.
Chad Kohls, a 2009 Centerville graduate, and Ellen Garner, a 2010 Tippecanoe graduate, are both critical after the fire.
Eveline Warren is a parent, and knows the family of Chad Kohls well.
Warren like many here in the Miami Valley are devastated to hear Chad and another local student, Ellen Garner are both critical after a fire near the University of Cincinnati.
"When you have a child, that is the worst thing to experience." She said.
The UC students were rescued by fire fighters after a space heater fire broke out on New Years Day.
Both families from the Miami Valley have been at the students' bedside in Cincinnati.
"We just want to help them because this is going to be a very long stretch for them." Warren said.
Warren is collecting gas and gift cards for both families and will deliver them this weekend.
"These families need prayers, support, and love."
