DAYTON -- Kenneth Brandt has pleaded guilty to rape and complicity to commit rape in Montgomery County and he is scheduled to be sentenced to 50 years in prison.
That sentence will run concurrently, however, with a 60-year prison sentence he received December 17 in Miami County. He pleaded guilty there to six counts of rape.
Five counts against Brandt in Montgomery County were dismissed.
He will be declared a Tier 3 Sex Offender.
Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said Brandt brought the victim from Troy, where Brandt lived, to Patrick Rieder's home in Dayton. The evidence shows that during this encounter, Heck said, both Rieder and Brandt engaged in sexual conduct with the child. The defendants had met in an online chat room, and eventually agreed to meet.
Heck said Brandt agreed to testify against co-defendant Patrick Rieder, who is indicted on four counts of rape of a child under the age of 13 along with sexually violent predator specifications.
âChild abuse, especially child sexual abuse, is plainly offensive and shocking," Heck said. "This holiday season, as we hold our own children and family close, let's renew our vow to protect our children.â
