BEAVERCREEK -- Police Officer Chris M. Williams, 50, was injured in crash on US 35 on Monday night when a pickup truck drove off the left side of the road and struck a parked patrol car in the median.
Timothy E. Duncan, 56, of Thomasville, Ga,. is reportedly the man behind the wheel of the truck. The Xenia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating and they said Duncan was driving the white Ford Ranger eastbound on US 35.
Both men were transported to Miami Valley Hospital and K-9 officer D.J., who was also in the patrol car was examined by a veterinarian. Williams was treated and released.
US 35 was closed between North Fairfield and Factory roads for five hours and charges are pending completion of the investigation.

BEAVERCREEK -- U.S. 35 Near Factory road shut down in both directions Monday night after a car slammed into a Beavercreek Police Cruiser. Officers say around 10:00p.m, a man was speeding on U.S. 35 when he swerved, and collided with a cruiser parked on the side of the road. The car went into a ditch. Police believe alcohol may have been a factor.
The driver was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The officer was also taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay. There was also a K-9 officer inside the cruiser, he suffered some minor scrapes.
All lanes are back open.

UPDATE--One lane of Westbound US 35 has now reopened.
BEAVERCREEK--US 35 is shut down in both directions right now near Factory Road due to a two-car accident.
According to police radio traffic, there was a major crash involving a Beavercreek police cruiser and at least one person is trapped. Careflight has been called to the scene.
One person has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital with critical injuries. The police officer involved was also taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
