CENTERVILLE -- Americana Festival will go on rain or shine.
The parade route is marked, volunteers finish last minute preparations and the grand flag sways in anticipation.
Organizers proudly boast Centerville's Americana festival is the biggest one day festival in the state of Ohio. And they don't get that title by being scared of a little rain.
"As long as there's no lightening, well go on, " organizer Don Taylor told us on Wednesday.
"My daughter has been marching for 8 years. 2 of the years it was downpours and people still lined the parade route and still watched."
But what does rain actually do to fireworks?
The answer? Not much. We talked to the director of tomorrow's show who says rain simply creates more smoke and will affect your visibility. The only real non- negotiators are lightening and winds over 20 miles an hour.
The Americana festival is expecting 75,000 people over the course of the day on Thursday.
If thunderstorms occur at showtime, they will postpone to Friday night.
