DAYTON -- A motorcycle accident from Tuesday night has turned fatal.
According to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, 53-year-old James Burt died at Miami Valley Hospital.
Tuesday night, police told us Burt was riding his motorcycle on the sidewalk on North Main near Warder Street at the time of the crash.
Police are unsure of why he was driving on the sidewalk, although one witness says he moved there to avoid getting hit by a car.
We're told the coroner has scheduled an autopsy.
Burt was not wearing a helmet.
